Angelique TruijensChairIs Czech-Dutch and is now graduating from her Bachelor's in European Studies (BA) at the University of Amsterdam within which she focuses on human rights in the EU, majoring in EU law. Within the GEC 2017 she has the position of "Chairwoman". In her free time, she is an avid cook and traveler, and makes the best lemon pie anyone has ever had. To express the importance the GEC 2017 has to her she shares this quote: “Gender equality is a fundamental human right for both women and men, and as all other human rights, it must be fought for. Though I find the fact that gender equality is not a reality, to be quite frank, ridiculous, I think that it is a problem, which can be solved only by the inclusion of all genders who conduct a constructive dialogue as well as concrete action.”

Rebecca HoggSecretaryIs originally from England, but is at home in Europe. She has just finished her MA in European Studies at University of Amsterdam. Within the GEC 2017 she has taken up the role of "Secretary". In her spare time, she enjoys learning Dutch, cycling, and visiting new places. She wanted to get involved with organizing this conference because she is passionate about gender equality, especially in the realm of reproductive rights, and hopes to contribute to the burgeoning discussion surrounding feminism in the professional and academic worlds.

Maddalena GeroliCommissioner for Promotion and PRIs an Italian-American finalist student of European Studies (BA) at the University of Amsterdam. She is majoring in European Law and wants to pursue a career in this field. Within the GEC 2017 Maddalena has taken up the position of “Commissioner for Promotion and PR“. In her spare time she loves to exercise, listen and play music, travel and go out with friends. Maddalena has chosen to be part of this conference as she believes in gender equality and wishes to spread and promote this ideal. Maddalena hopes and is aiming to welcome as many and varied people as possible as it is an issue that affects us all.

Eilidh McCann
Commissioner of Budget and AcquisitionIs originally from Ireland and has recently finished her MA in European Studies: Identity and Integration at the University of Amsterdam. She is the “Commissioner of Budget and Acquisition” on the GEC Organisation Committee. Eilidh committed herself to the GEC 2017 because she believes in Feminism. In her spare time, Eilidh loves to go to Iyengar yoga classes and cycling around Amsterdam. Eilidh has previously lived, worked and studied in Ireland, the United Kingdom, France, the Netherlands and, will soon be moving to Rome in Italy. She believes that women and men should be proud to brand themselves as Feminists as they strive towards fair and just society, and workplace, for all.
Esther EumannLocation And CateringIs an undergraduate in European Studies (BA) at the University of Amsterdam, originally from Germany. Her position in this project is “Location and Catering“. Why Gender Equality is important … Because only with gender equality will everybody be able to fulfill their potential and be what and who they want to be. Fun fact: she loves to eat peanut butter straight out of the jar.
